Eric S. Johnson
Principal, Client Strategist

Eric S. Johnson is a Principal and Client Strategist at Signature, focusing on client strategy, investment management, family and estate planning, and philanthropic strategies in Signature’s Charlottesville office. Prior to joining Signature, Eric was a Managing Director at U. S. Trust, where he headed the Charlottesville wealth management office. Additionally, Eric served as Market President for Bank of America in Charlottesville, where he coordinated the cross-functional efforts of seven lines of business.

Eric’s career in investment and wealth management has spanned more than 30 years. Prior to joining Bank of America, Eric was a Senior Vice President and branch manager for Smith Barney, where he established the Charlottesville and Roanoke, Virginia offices. His duties included the recruiting and retention of financial consultants, P&L responsibilities for two offices, and individual client management. He also held similar positions as a producing branch manager for Wheat First Butcher Singer and Scott & Stringfellow, Inc.

An active volunteer in his community, Eric is currently on the Governing Board of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation and the Executive Committee of the United Way – Thomas Jefferson Area. He participates in the Smart Beginnings Early Childhood Education initiative, and is on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Charlottesville-Albemarle.

Eric is a graduate of Emory & Henry College, with a bachelor degree in Economics and Business Administration.

Married with two children, Eric enjoys numerous outdoor activities, including sailing and travel, as well as civic, community and cultural endeavors.
