Donna Rucker, J.D.
Chief Compliance Officer, In House Counsel

Donna Rucker is Signature’s Chief Compliance Officer and In House Counsel. In addition to overseeing Signature's compliance with SEC regulations governing federally registered investment advisors, she serves as the firm’s in house counsel. As a tax, trust, and estate lawyer, Donna adds her expertise to the Signature financial and tax planning team, and performs the legal due diligence associated with Signature’s alternative investments. She came to Signature from McCandlish Holton, P.C., where she practiced tax law and estate planning.

Donna was born in New York City and raised in suburbs of New York City, Chicago and Washington DC. Upon graduation from law school, she clerked for a judge in the Oklahoma Circuit Court of Appeals in Tulsa, Oklahoma; she then moved to Virginia with her husband to raise a family.

Donna is a graduate of Wellesley College with a bachelor's degree in Economics and Russian. She holds a law degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's in Law and Taxation from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.

Donna and her husband enjoy their garden, a shared passion for English history, and the evolving research on the identity of William Shakespeare. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. Donna and her husband love to travel and have visited countries throughout Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, and northern Africa. Great Britain remains their favorite destination.
